Raptors Sign Forward Jontay Porter to Two-Way Contract

NBA G-League Ignite Alum Joins Toronto Roster

Porter Signs After Impressive Summer League Performance

The Toronto Raptors announced Saturday that they have signed forward Jontay Porter to a two-way contract. The 24-year-old joins the Raptors after playing for the NBA G-League Ignite in the 2022-23 season.

Porter, who played for the University of Missouri before joining the Ignite, averaged 4.4 points and 3.2 rebounds in 15 games for the Ignite. He also shot 42.9% from the field and 39.5% from three-point range.

The signing of Porter gives the Raptors another young player with upside. Porter has shown flashes of his potential on both ends of the floor and could develop into a valuable contributor for the Raptors. He is expected to fill a role as a bench forward who can provide energy, defense, and shooting.

Porter's signing also adds to the Raptors' depth at the forward position. Toronto already has Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, and Chris Boucher at forward, but Porter could push for minutes behind them. He could also be used as a small-ball center in certain matchups.
